Day 18 of Magic: Make Your Own Haunted Home
Home sweet haunted home.
Welcome to Day 18 of our Month of Magic from Primary!
Today, in the spirit of imaginative play, we're asking kids: How can you make your own house haunted? What does "haunted" mean to you? It doesn't have to be spookified in the traditional sense that haunted houses you'd normally see this time of year are — we're here for a creative time, not a super scary time! (But if super scary's your thing, that's cool too :) Challenge your littles to think outside the box. Have them pick any room they'd like and give them one hour to gather materials from around the house and bring their idea to life.
And just for fun, here's what we find haunted in our own homes:
- An overflowing hamper of laundry
- A box full of uncapped, dried-out markers
- A pacifier gone MIA when you need to soothe the baby who's woken up in the middle of the night
- When it's time for bed and your child realizes they've left their stuffie at school
- A dryer that constantly eats *one* sock from a pair
- Perpetually frozen Zoom school
- A request to play any of these songs
- When the new episode of Sesame Street is about to start but the TV remote is nowhere to be found
- Bedtime in general (This comic!)
- "I'm boreddddddd!" (We're so sorry. This might help.)
Happy haunting, friends!
