Hassle-Free Halloween: How to Make a No-Sew Beard
DIY Halloween accessories, ready in 5 steps (or less).
At Primary, we take Halloween *very* seriously — to us, there’s nothing spookier than not having a costume ready once October hits. We also recognize that there’s no need to break your back (or the bank) to make your child’s wildest costume dreams come alive. As part of our DIY costume guide series, here’s how to make a no-sew beard…
1. Gather the goods! Start with scissors, hot glue, an elastic band, marker and 1 sheet of felt in a color of your choice.
2. Fold a sheet of felt in half lengthwise. Draw half a beard shape with an opening for the mouth onto the felt and cut out. Unfold and trim as needed to get desired shape.
3. Cut long thin strips of brown felt and fringe cut each strip to make the beard hairs. Hot glue the strips horizontally to the beard base beginning at the bottom and trimming the strips as needed.
Snip, snip.
4. Cut a strip of elastic that will fit around the back of the child’s head to the sides of the face. Hot glue the elastic band to each side of the beard. Wear to complete your costume, and have fun gobbling up loads of candy!
